The Couple

For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Isaiah 55:9

2016 was the genesis of Josiah and Rissah’s journey. In 2016 Rissah wrote a letter to the Lord about a mate. Knowing in her heart that this was her desire. In that letter, she told the Lord, all the qualities she wanted in a husband. A God fearing man, someone who would truly love her, someone filled with the holy ghost and a true gentleman, just to name a few. She wrote this letter in sincerity and with a prayerful heart. Trusting and believing that God would answer her prayer. But little did she know God was already answering her prayers. That same God was working on Josiah’s heart, in the same year and month which Rissah wrote that letter, bringing Josiah into a place of knowing the true and living God. Bringing him “from an out of and into experience”. God truly dealt with Josiah’s heart that year, and now he can stand today and testify of the goodness of God in his life. But little did they know God was the master mind behind a great plan, to bring them together.

A few years after they continued to walk faithfully unto the Lord being true examples of young men and women in this day. A mighty man of valour and A woman of faith. But they were still blinded, not yet noticing each other. Then one day it all changed. Josiah’s eyes went on Rissah and there was a spark. He started to be attracted to this young lady. Seeing how she carries about herself as a true daughter of God, one in whose life it is evident that God has done something special for her. But he knew that even though he was attracted and was catching feelings for Rissah, there is always a provided way to go about these things. So he stayed in prayer continuously about it, for God to show him if Rissah was the one for him. As time passed he kept watching, waiting and praying on the Lord to give him leadership.

Then one day Josiah noticed that Rissah wasn’t in church for about a week or two and he began to get concerned trusting that all was well with her. So he sent a message to one of his friends to ask on his behalf if all was well, she sent back a message to his friend replying, “Yes I am well and good by the grace of God.”

This was the first time that Josiah was brought to Rissah’s attention. She didn’t know much of him but she appreciated his concern.

Family & Friends

A few days after Josiah saw Rissah was in service and because he enquired about her, he knew that he would have to introduce himself to her at some point. That service Josiah prayed and asked the Lord to put Rissah in a position where he could feel comfortable to speak to her. Exactly as Josiah prayed he saw Rissah in that exact position in the church compound. His prayer was fulfilled so accurately he had to speak to her. Although the conversation was very brief it was the beginning of something special. They didn’t speak for months apart after. Around that time Rissah was preparing to go on a trip to Argentina and Chile with the saints. Then shortly after the pandemic began. But what was in Josiah’s heart was just getting stronger and stronger for Rissah.

Eventually he went about speaking to her parents about his interest he had for her. And from there the friendship blossomed and they felt like they always knew each other. As the friendship grew the love began to grow also and time will fail to tell of the rest of their love story.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
